Das letzte Jahr war hart für dich.

Nichts lief glatt, nichts war einfach.

Und wenn du dachtest, jetzt wäre alles in Ordnung,

dann kam wieder etwas dazwischen.

Mancher wäre daran zerbrochen,

hätte frustriert den Kram hingeschmissen und aufgegeben.

Du hast das alles fast schon stoisch weggesteckt und weitergemacht,

die Frustration, den Ärger, die Enttäuschung anderen überlassen.

Ich wünsche dir die Kraft, aus dieser Phase der Rückschläge herauszukommen.

Ich wünsche dir so sehr, dass die Umstände sich bessern und du positiv in die Zukunft schauen kannst.

A difficult year

Last year was tough for you.

Nothing went smoothly, nothing was easy.

And just when you thought everything was fine, something came up again.

Some people would have broken down, thrown in the towel in frustration and given up.

You put it all away almost stoically and carried on,

leaving the frustration, anger and disappointment to others.

I wish you the strength to get out of this phase of setbacks.

I wish you so much that circumstances will improve and that you can look positively to the future.

Ich bin wie vor den Kopf geschlagen.

Wieder geht eine Wahl zu Ende,

wieder gewinnen diejenigen, die Angst und Hass schüren,

die offen mit Methoden liebäugeln, die vor Jahrzehnten schon einmal in Mode waren.

Damals gab es andere Länder, die letztlich eingeschritten sind.

Diesmal? Schwierig.

Was uns gerade bleibt:

Nicht die Hoffnung verlieren.

Immer und überall den Mund aufmachen, wo jemand rechte Parolen, Hetze und falsche Behauptungen von sich gibt.

Durch unser eigenes Handeln einen Gegenpol setzen.

Kindred, schenkt uns die Kraft dazu.

Shocked

I feel like I’ve been beaten over the head. Another election is coming to an end,

another victory for those who stir up fear and hatred,

who openly flirt with methods that were in vogue decades ago.

Back then, there were other countries that finally stepped in.

This time? Difficult.

What remains for us right now:

Not to lose hope.

Always and everywhere speak up when someone is spouting right-wing slogans, agitation and false claims.

Counteract them with our own actions.

Kindred, give us the strength to do this.

An trüben Tagen leuchtet das Laub am Straßenrand, und bringt Farben in das neblige, regnerische Grau:

nicht das Rosa und Saftgrün des Frühlings, nicht das leuchtende Rot und Sonnengelb des Sommers, sondern das sanfte Gold, das weiche Braun, das blasse Grün und tiefdunkle Rot des Herbstes.
